Biography
Shelly earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon. Almost immediately, she began her career in oncology as a Medical/Surgical Oncology RN at Oregon Health and Science University Knight Cancer Institute in Portland, Oregon. Lured by the love of a rural mountain lifestyle, she joined the Shaw Cancer Center as an infusion and medical oncology RN in 2017. Shelly then obtained her master’s degree in nursing from Maryville University in St. Louis and began working at Shaw Cancer Center as an Oncology and Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner in 2023. Also in 2023, Shelly received her Interprofessional Graduate Certificate in Palliative Care from the University of Colorado Anschutz. With her certification as an Adult Geriatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, and years of oncology, palliative care and hospice experience, Shelly brings a unique combination of skills to Shaw. She enjoys caring for patients of different backgrounds, always promoting the goal of improved quality of life throughout the experience of a serious illness.
When not in the clinic, Shelly can be found at outdoor concerts, camping in her vintage trailer, or on a river with her fly rod.
