Brain tumors and brain cancer are caused by the growth of abnormal cells in the tissues of the brain. A brain tumor is inherently serious and life-threatening because it invades the limited space of the brain cavity. However, brain tumors (even malignant ones) are not absolutely fatal, and the care team at Shaw is trained in using both radiation and chemotherapy for brain cancer treatment.
